Q: How much is the cost for a website?
The price is according to how many hours I will need for
programming and designing.
Q: How long will it take?
If you have the copy (text) for your site written before the
design process begins, it generally takes 1 - 4 weeks for simple
website from start to finish. Copy should be in electronic
format, preferably MS Word format. Not having your copy
completed before the design process can significantly delay the
production of your site.
Q: How can I get the final version of my Website?
Once the final payment is received, you will receive 100%
ownership of your Web site. Once the website is finalized I can
send you by email the copy of your Website. Also I can transfer
(upload) the entire website to your hosting server using only
FTP.
Q: How many changes can I request to the drafts?
Three changes. We do ask for a final approval to the design
before adding the text and content to the pages.
Q: Can I make changes after I approve the draft?
Yes, however design changes performed after you have approved
the draft will be charged at an hourly rate of $60.00 US.
Q: What is your payment policy and what type of payments do you accept?
I receive 50% of your estimated total as a deposit prior to
beginning work. The final payment is due immediately upon
completion of the project with a complete satisfaction of the
customer. I accept checks, credit cards or Paypal. There is a 3
business day waiting period for all payments remitted by
personal check. Your project will begin once your payment has
cleared.
Q: What screen resolution should I design for my website?
While 1024x768 is clearly the dominant screen resolution,
800x600 is still relevant; the technical nature of our web site
probably skews the results in favor of larger screens. Any web
site design that is unusable at 800x600 is not a good design.
Q: How do I make graphics for my site?
You must decide what file format to use for your images.
Photographs should be saved in .jpg (JPEG) format when you are
finished editing them and ready to use them on a web site. Most
other images should be saved in .png or .gif format. Please do
not ever use .bmp files on the web as they are very, very slow
to download and do not work with some web browsers. Using .bmp
format images can easily cause you to exceed your web hosting
account's data transfer limit and incur additional fees!
Q: What is SEO?
Search Engine Optimization: means ensuring that your web pages
are accessible to search engines and focused in ways that help
improve the chances they will be found. Search engines are one
of the primary ways that Internet users find web sites. That's
why a web site with a good search engine listing may see a
dramatic increase in traffic. Everyone wants that good listing.
Unfortunately, many web sites appear poorly in search engine
rankings, or may not be listed at all, because they fail to
consider how search engines work. Knowledge of "search engine
optimization" can help many of these sites.
